Next week, monday till friday we'll post a fashion trend for spring/summer 2012.

Today we start with a shoe-trend for summer 2012; the platform. For the leeks among us; shoes, boots, or sandals with thick soles at least four inches in height, often made of cork, plastic, rubber, or wood.
They have been worn in various cultures since ancient times for fashion or for added height.  Perfect to make your legs seem much longer and to make your outfit feminine yet tough. They were very popular in the 60s, 70s and 80s, were re-introduced by Vivienne Westwood and are now worn by several celebrities.

Mary-Kate Olsen, Lauren Conrad and Nicole Richie also wear these shoes.

Our (own) favorite is the shoe below from Qupid.
