Haider Ackermann is a fashion designer whose name have become well-known in the fashion industry. A big fan of him is Karl Lagerfeld, who also wrote about him in the newspaper ‘metro’, when he was editor for a week. This also was the motivation to write something about him on our blog. We have been watching Haider for a while now, but he never really had a breakthrough in the Netherlands. So for the Dutch bloggers, read this carefully :o)
Haider
was born in 1971 and is a French designer of ready-to-wear fashion. He lived in Colombia, Ethiopia and France before
he moved to the Netherlands, to
take courses at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp (Begium). He had a
traineeship at John Galliano and afterwards, he launched his own label. They
already call him 'the new Yves Saint Laurent'. His style is elegant and tempting but also tough and masculine. He emphasizes the shoulders and uses a lot of stiff, shiny fabrics, that envelop the body largeley. You can see the mix between African and European style in his creations. Unstill now, his designs have been worn by Tilda Swinton, Penelope Cruz, Victoria Beckham and Janet Jackson and we believe there will be many more...
