The Rise and Rise of: Doutzen Kroes

Remember that awesome show of MTV back in the days, called the Rise and Rise of, where they showed how the celebrity's started with their career? We loved that show and thought it was a great idea to do a bit like the same, but then for the fashion industry! The first rising star we will talk about is Doutzen Kroes!


This beautiful Dutch model shines on the cover of the April issue of the French VOGUE and since we are both Dutch girls (and very very proud of her), we decided this was the perfect oppurtunity to write a post about her!

As you all may know, Doutzen was not discovered in a shopping mall looking for make-up. No, this lady sent her own holiday pictures to a model agency, when she was graduated from high school, to make some extra money. However, the people at the agency loved her, and soon she became one of the best top models.

She has walked in shows for Versace, Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci, Michael Kors, Yves Saint Laurant and Victor and Rolf and was also the face of the fragrance Eternity by Calvin Klein. In 2006 she was contracted by L'Oreal Paris and after that she became a Victoria's Secret Angel.

But there is more, because she has a wax figure in the Madame Tussauds Museum in Amsterdam. And besides she being an amazing model, Doutzen also had her debut as actress in the first Dutch 3D movie 'Nova Zembla'. And next to all this hard work she is doing, she is also an ambassedor of Dance4Life, a non-profit organisation which educates youth about HIV and AIDS prevention trough song and dance.





Privately she is doing well either, Doutzen married DJ Sunnery James in november 2010 and together they have a beautiful son named Phyllon Joy.

Well, we, as Dutchies, have many reasons to be proud of her, right? And there it is: the amazing cover of the French VOGUE. One word: WOW!
